Generally what people mean when making the distinction between “classical” and “acoustic” guitars is that classical guitars have nylon strings for the G. B and top E strings whereas acoustic guitars have all steel strings. Furthermore, classical guitars usually have a slightly wider neck and no cutaway. In fact, both guitar types are strictly speaking “acoustic“, so its best to refer to them as “nylon string” or “steel string“.
