Propellerhead Software’s Reason has always been fun to use. When it was first released, it turned the concept of the DAW on its head, or at least on its side. With Reason 7, the new features allow it to truly be the hub of your studio…
Reason gave users a virtual 19″ rack that could be filled with a range of virtual synths, samplers, drum machines and effects and was completely self-contained: no more having your DAW crash thanks to some unhelpful plugin!
Propellerhead later added Record to allow audio recording and MIDI output has now been included, so you can use Reason as the centrepiece of your studio and control all those outboard synths and modules.
Reason 7 also includes built-in ReCycle-type functionality to chop your sounds into slices for easy mapping across the keyboard, quantization and timing adjustments or creative tempo alterations.
With a host of improvements, Reason remains at the forefront of digital music creation, either as your primary method of working or a change of scene from your usual studio environment.
Currently in public beta testing, Reason 7 should be available soon!
