There are plenty of Ableton Live tips and tricks around, but this is a crafty one.
Even if you’re a long-time Ableton Live user, there are always new things to find, or different ways to do the same thing, but we like this one…
Particularly when playing Live live, it can be very useful to see, at a glance, which effects and devices are active on which tracks, without having to select that track and look at the device strip at the bottom of the screen.
Well, here’s a way to do it! Thanks to the wonderful Madeleine at Sonic Bloom and her expert Ableton Live knowledge, there is a surprisingly easy way to get an overview of the status of all those devices…
If you weren’t aware of Live’s options.txt file before, now is the time to get to know it:
