A look at the Softube Console 1 Mk2

The Softube Console 1 Mk2 has appeared, and it looks like it may end up gracing plenty a studio desk this year. Particularly with the announcement that the price is going to come down…

Softube Console 1 Mk2

A Softube Console 1 Mk2 price drop, in this economic climate?

It seems so. The first generation Console 1 seems to have been a success, so improved economies of scale and production methods have meant that the cost for the Console 1 Mk2 has come done.

A nice treat.

We don’t have exact pricing information yet, but we expect the Console 1 MkII to be somewhere around the £500-£550 mark. And remember, that includes the SSL 4k E Channel plugin so you can mix with the sound of one of the most successful desks ever made right from the get go.

But there’s more…

Softube Console 1 Mk2Softube Console 1 MkII UAD plugin compatibility

Softube have earned their reputation, with a history of great-sounding plugins, but with the new UAD2 plugin compatibility, Console 1 just became a whole lot more flexible. So far, more than 60 UAD2 plugins have been pre-mapped so you can get your hands on your Chandler Limited, Fairchild, Teletronix, Tube-Tech and Abbey Road Studios -driven mix.

The Softube Console 1 Mk2 is due to be landing in the somewhat vague ‘spring 2017’, but we’ll keep you informed, and just get in touch if you want us to let you know when we find out the details!
