What’s new in Novation Circuit v1.6

The Circuit, Novation’s portable sequencer, synth and sampler is now in its 6th revision. And with this new firmware update comes a big selection of improvements to its features. Based on feedback from Circuit users, panning was the single most requested feature, and Novation have now turned the request in to a reality.

Panning: The new panning feature essentially gives Circuit two separate outputs. Synth and Drum parts can now be panned left and right allowing you to dictate where you send audio tracks in the stereo field, or extract audio tracks into your DAW.

Effects Mute: You can now mute any unwanted effects from the FX view with one pad, making it easier to connect with external hardware processors.

Drum Micro Steps: Each step can now be sub-divided into six micro steps on your drums tracks. Using Drum Micro Steps as a beat-building tool, Circuit v1.6 adds instant fills and stutter effects to users’ workflows, re-triggering a sample up to six times within each step.

Brightness Setting: Circuit can be a little too bright for your environment sometimes. So with the new update, you can now set Circuit to ‘Light Dim’, which can be toggled on and off from the settings page by holding down shift when you power on.
