Red Dog Music for Prime Minister!
It is just over 3 years since we at Red Dog Music first opened our doors. These three years have been the hardest anyone can imagine in which to start a music shop: worldwide recession, squeezed incomes, retail woe on the high street, and the X Factor on TV constantly trying to tell the world that music is about egotism and silly hairdos.
However, despite all of the above, we continue to grow quickly as a company and are still here doing our thing.
This has been achieved by focussing on friendliness, efficiency, humour, direct engagement with you our customers both online and off, and an overarching passion for the central object of what we do: music.
In this time we have launched a magazine, “The Dog”, unlike any other – tongue-in-cheek features, honest reviews and the silliest of banter – and ensured it reaches musicians across the UK. We have put on several events, our Unique Beats electronica festival attracting over 400 visitors. We have run popular weekly in-store gigs and open mic sessions,as well as sponsoring local charitable events. We have worked very hard and we have drunk a LOT of coffee.
As such, we would love it if you would consider voting for us as Best Independent Retailer in the upcoming Music Industries Association awards. You can do so by following the link below:
As a new company, any sort of recognition like this is massively valuable to us, and will help us continue to help out musicians and producers in the years to come.
Own trumpet well and truly blown (we don’t even sell trumpets), thank you for reading this far, and we hope to hear from you soon.
