The Red Dog Songwriters Night
Remember Hair of the Dog Sundays? Our much-loved run of weekly in-store gigs that featured a whole bunch of bands from the Edinburgh music scene? Well, we had to move them out of the shop due to noise complaints. Then we struggled to find another suitable venue. So, we’ve taken a little hiatus in order to catch our breath. In the meantime, however, we’d like to proudly present The Red Dog Songwriters Night at The Ale House: hosted by one of Edinburgh’s musical songwriting staples, Aaron Wright, every Tuesday night.
The Ale House is fast becoming one of Edinburgh’s most popular venues for musicians to hang out, play tunes, drink beer and be merry, so we were more than happy to collaborate with them on a night that supports live music and sees some of Edinburgh’s finest songwriters doing their thing. As well as The Red Dog Songwriters Night, they also have a whole bunch of other nights, sessions, bands, etc. practically every night of the week; and, as I’m sure you’ve probably gathered, it’s completely free.
With the closure of a good whack of music venues in the last few years, it’s refreshing to see a relatively small, new venue working so hard at supporting a music scene that seems to be having a bit of a tough time. It’s venues like this that make us feel excited about the music scene so if you’d be so kind as to join us in a WOO HOO for The Ale House. And long live The Red Dog Songwriters Night.
