December’s Music Competition: Singer-Songwriter
We are super-excited to announce that our monthly music competition is now under way.
We realise that the phrase ‘Singer-Songwriter’ could be taken a lot of ways, so consider this simple example:
Noel Gallagher wants to enter our ‘Singer-Songwriter’ competition.
Correct: He submits a “Noel Gallagher” song in which he is the principal performer in the recording.
Incorrect: He submits an Oasis song, the focus being a band playing a rock song. There’s a ‘Rock’ month coming up soon. Hold your horses, Noel!
The TW145 ASC Premier is a beautiful super-folk, electro-acoustic guitar with a luscious, well rounded sound. Its solid aged spruce wood top and mahogany back combine beautifully to give warm, resonant lows and lustrous, zingy overtones.
The guitar – worth £459 – also comes fitted with an exceptional pickup: The B-Band A3T. This system provides an in-built chromatic tuner and 4-band EQ to give you ultimate control on stage, in the studio or in the rehearsal room.
Our competition is absolutely FREE to enter, all you need to do is upload your song using our SoundCloud Dropbox by midnight, November 30th, 2012.
A shortlist of 5 finalists will then be selected by our guest judge, Ged Brockie of the Edinburgh Guitar and Music Festival, and at the start of December the public will be able to listen to the finalists and vote for their favourite.
At 5pm on 17th December, 2012 the entry with the most votes will be crowned THE WINNER!
We’ve got a few rules for submission, 16 in total and all pretty basic and non-threatening. If you’re considering entering, give them a glance through just to make sure your entry will qualify.
Even though it’s barely been announced, the news has been spreading by word of mouth and we’ve already had more than 100 submissions! Get on it, folks – it’s going to be a good one!
We’ve got a veritable menagerie of genres on the horizon, including House & Techno, Hip-Hop, Metal, Electronica & Ambient, Country & Folk, Punk & Ska, Blues & Jazz, World, Indie, Dubstep, Drum ‘n’ Bass and good ol’ Rock. Make sure to subscribe to our blog or friend us on Facebook to keep up to date on the competition!
