The Ramones replaced by robots

The Ramones replaced by robots

First we had a robot playing the bass line from Muse’s hysteria. OK – fair enough – it’s not that difficult to play, and it’s pretty mechanical-sounding anyway.

But now those pesky scientists have taken things one step further: they’ve managed to build robots that can play a pretty rocking rendition of The Ramones’ Blitzkrieg Bop. They haven’t quite managed to perform the vocals yet, but the guitar, bass and drums are all there.

If you’ve read enough sci-fi, you might be expecting a robot uprising, but who knew that it would take the form of shouty punk rock?

What does this it all mean? Should human, “pinkware” musicians just pack up and retire now? Or should we just be grateful the robots don’t want to kill us?
