Monopoly with vintage synths: it’s Monophony!
Everybody loves Monopoly. To some, the Parker classic is an enjoyable, lighthearted after-dinner pastime; to others, a fiercely competitive capitalist battle where the only reason you lost is because you were unlucky enough to land on Mayfair at the wrong time.
To make a more political-economic point, Monopoly does demonstrate what happens in a microcosm of a pure free-market economy that isn’t controlled by external forces. As initial stochastic events establish an economic asymmetry, the rich/poor divide increases over time leading to, well, a monopoly.
But enough editorialising! Monopoly has been with us for a while now, and you may be bored of all those London streets. So, why not replace the London streets with synths? Although not necessarily synths from London.
Red Dog Music presents: Monophony!
Of course, we don’t have all the time in the world; so, while we can make the board, if you want the matching cards you’ll have to get your own Monopoly cards and alter them with a marker pen.
(Also, we know the Moog Phatty range isn’t vintage, but we love ’em!)
Enough with the words though, enjoy your Monophony!
