Apogee MiC – premium recordings wherever you go

The Apogee MiC might be the problem solver for which you’ve been looking… If you need to record interviews, voiceovers, record those acoustic songwriting sessions on the move and more, then the Apogee Mic with your iOS device or laptop gives you the ability to make first-class recordings wherever you need to.

Apogee MiC – easy setup, plenty software

Getting setup really doesn’t get much more straightforward than with the Apogee MiC. The MiC includes USB, 30-pin and Lightning cables in the box, you’re ready to connect to your iPhone, iPod touch, iPad or Mac without having to budget for additional cables.

The Apogee MiC uses the Apple Core Audio drivers, so no additional things to install and, when you update your operating system version, your MiC will just keep on working with those drivers, without the ‘your device isn’t supported by this operating system’ problems…

Being Core Audio compliant, the Apogee Mic will work with pretty much any audio application you care to try, so you’re good to get recording with your software or app of choice, no need to worry about having to install a bespoke application to start getting takes down. And with the simple level control on the side of the MiC, you can get your input levels set quickly and easily.

Apogee MiC – and preamp and AD converter

Getting a quality signal into your digital device requires more than just a quality mic, it requires a quality signal chain. Fortunately, with the experience of Apogee, you get that as well.

The Apogee MiC makes the most of the limited power available from iOS devices by giving it a clean up, and using it all to drive the preamp and conversion hardware, giving you superior audio performance. And with Apogee’s experience in making high-end converters, you know that you’re going to get a great signal down on your digital tape!

Apogee MiC – want to hear how it sounds?

All of the tech specs, included cables and ease of use don’t really matter if the MiC doesn’t sound very good. Well, no worries there. Just as the proof of the pudding is in the eating, the proof of the mic and interface is in the listening, so let’s listen…

Let’s start with some classical guitar from Yuri Nugmanov:

Maybe some cello?

And what about this song from Wise Club? Simply an Apogee MiC into Garageband on an iPad and a bit of reverb. No EQ or dynamics processing applied:

Not that it’s just for music of course, for voiceovers, interviews or as the perfect complement to your video recordings, the Apogee MiC is just the job.
