The Fender 57 Custom Amps look the part, don’t they?
Today, the Fender 57 Custom amps were announced. And wow, don’t these look pretty special?
Fender’s ‘narrow panel’ era of the latter half of the 1950s produced some of the most iconic amps they made – Bassman and Champ anyone? – and grabbing an original from this time will set you back a pretty penny.
And that’s if you can find one.
The new Fender 57 Custom Amps
All of that leads us nicely to the new Fender 57 Custom amps. The aim of these amplifiers was to give players not only the authentic vintage tones they wanted, but also to give them a platform to create whatever sounds they had in their heads.
The amps run through a broadly consistent theme, with 12AY7 preamp valves, custom tone capacitors and that famous Fender brown tweed covering. What’s quite exciting about the 57 Custom series is that it includes the 57 Custom Pro-Amp: an amplifier that Fender have never previously reissued.
With the four amplifiers of the range taking you from the compact and legendary Champ with its 8″ speaker, right up to the 40 Watts of power and 2 x 12″ alnico speakers of the Custom Twin, there’s a model in the Fender 57 Custom Amp range for every role – from stage to studio and back again.
We’ve got batch of these amps on order to our Leeds store, so keep an eye out for them, and stop in for some tone glory!
