Red Dog Music’s Top Five: Super Bowl Half-time shows

Prince Half TimeIt’s that time of the year again, and tonight’s game is going to have to go some to give us the joy (or despair) – but massive emotional ups-and-downs either way – of last year’s Patriots vs Falcons game. Wow.

While Brady and Belichick are going for another jewel to add to the Pat’s dynasty, and the Eagles try to reverse the result from 2004, the game, of course, is a mere sideshow to the quarter of an hour in the middle.

Time for a Red Dog Top Five of Super Bowl half-time shows…

Michael Jackson, 1993 – Super Bowl XXVII, Bills 17 – 52 Cowboys – MVP: Troy Aikman

This is how you own a stage.

Prince, 2007 – Super Bowl XLI, Colts 29 – 17 Bears – MVP: Peyton Manning

Purple Rain in the rain.

U2, 2002 – Super Bowl XXXVI, Rams 17 – 20 Patriots – MVP: Tom Brady

Five months after 9/11.

Katy Perry, 2015 – Super Bowl XLIX, Patrriots 28 – 24 Seahawks – MVP: Tom Brady

You can’t really beat riding in atop a giant metallic animatronic lion.–_Y

Beyonce, 2013 – Super Bowl XLVII, Ravens 34 – 31 49ers – MVP: Joe Flacco
