Roland Piano & Synth Weekend at Red Dog Music Edinburgh

What are you up to on the 10th and 11th of August? The Festivals in Edinburgh are in full swing, the sun is (hopefully) shining and the schools are about to go back. With all this in mind we thought we’d host a wee festival of our own and invited Roland product specialists Remie Pascua and Andy Pimblott over to host workshops and tutorials in Roland synth, recording and digital piano gear.

Over the course of Friday the 10th and Saturday the 11th, we will be hosting a series of demo workshops, performances, and one to one tutorial sessions on our range of Roland synths, production gear, keyboards and digital pianos with Roland Specialists. Remie takes care of the digital piano department, and Andy will be here to handle all things synth and production. Whether you’re a total beginner, teacher, student, producer or performer, we you’re guaranteed to find something for you that will help you and your music.

Workshop places and one to one tutorials are totally free, and you can reserve a free ticket to ensure your spot. Places are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment. You can book multiple workshops if you’re interested in more than one.


Learning piano with Remie Pascua (Friday 11am – 12pm)

A workshop designed for teachers, pupils and anyone with an interest in learning how to play or teach piano in new ways using the latest technology. This workshop is a fantastic learning opportunity help you understand how to utilise all of Roland’s digital piano technologies to their full potential.

Live Keyboard Rig Set Up (Friday 1pm – 2pm)

Do you want to play your keyboard live and find out how to set up your gear to get the best out of it live? Using Roland’s range of keyboards, we’ll look at everything to ensure your performance sounds amazing and is free from technical gremlins!

Creative Sampling (Friday 3pm – 4pm)

The festival is on and the sounds of city have never been louder or more interesting! Learn how to record sounds and turn them into unique music using a range of the latest Roland production gear.

Introduction to Digital Pianos (Saturday 11am – 12pm)

Going “digital” can seem daunting, especially if you’ve been used to playing an acoustic piano for years. Digital pianos are now better than ever with a whole host of creative and practical advantages. This workshop is the perfect introduction an amazing range of instruments to suit all budgets and playing abilities.

Great Sound for Youtube on a Budget (Saturday 11am – 12pm)

How many times have you watched a YouTube video and the sound has been awful? Find out how to get superb sound for your smart phone in this fun workshop. Capture the essence of those performances, go live on Facebook and be confident your audience can hear you. It’s easier and cheaper than you think!

Getting the most out of your digital piano (Saturday 1:30pm – 2:30pm)

This fascinating workshop will open your eyes and ears to some of the more in depth features from Roland’s range of digital pianos. Maybe you’ve already got one and would like to see its full potential or maybe you’re intrigued by what your next instrument can offer you!

Electronic Music for Beginners (Saturday 1:30pm – 2:30pm)

This a great chance to learn how to create your own electronic music. Using Roland’s range of amazing synths, drum machines and samplers we will show you the basics of how to make beats, create new sounds and perform it all live! Not to be missed!

One-to-One Sessions with Remie Pascua and Andy Pimblot. (Friday and Saturday)

Here’s a great opportunity to get some in depth knowledge on our fantastic range of Roland products. Over the two days we will have two Roland product specialists in store to answer your questions in detail.
